About the event
This worshop focuses on two goals:1) providing training of parliamentary procedures and conducting meetings via video-conferencing; 2) providing training of social etiquette. The primary methods for achieving these goals will be:
Goal #1- To provide training of parliamentary procedures.
Objective #1.1 – To work effectively as a member of a team
Objective #1.1a – Students will create bylaws for implementation.
Objective #1.2 – To learn and acquire the skills required to perform parliamentary procedures.
Objective #1.2a – Students will practice taking minutes from an oral presentation
Objective #1.2b – Students will alternately serve as presiding officer, secretary, treasurer, parliamentarian
Objective #1.2c – Students will compare duties of officers as described in ROBERT's RULES OF ORDER with those stated in an organization's constitution.
Objective #1.2d – Students will make, second, amend, rescind motions as necessary.
Objective #1.2e – Students will use Internet to locate historical information and resources available on parliamentary procedure
Objective#1.2f – Student will record meetings making use of parliamentary procedures.
Objective# 1.2g – Students will review a jeopardy style game and “how wants to be a parliamentary” game.
Goal #2- To provide training of social etiquette.
Objective #2.1 - To provide social etiquette training through real world experiences.
